Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal information Couch to Control™ collects, why, and what you can do about it. Couch to Control™ is operated by Alcohol Reduction Coach™, based in London, UK. We are the data controller for the information described here.

What we collect

Signup details: your name and email address if you asked to hear when places opened, before the course went on sale.
Purchase details: your name, email address and billing details when you buy the course. Payments are handled by Stripe or PayPal, and we never see or store your full card details.
Call details: the information you give when booking your call, your answers to the questionnaire about your typical week, anything you choose to share during the call, and the written summary of strategies we send you afterwards.
Health information: in your questionnaire and during your call you may tell us about your drinking and wellbeing. This is special category data under UK GDPR, and we only record it with your explicit consent and only to support your coaching.

Why we use it

To give you access to the course and deliver your call (contract).
To keep records for tax and accounting purposes (legal obligation).
To let you know about other Alcohol Reduction Coach™ programmes, only where you have agreed to hear from us (consent).

You can withdraw consent at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email or by contacting us.

Who we share it with

We never sell your data. We use a small number of trusted providers to run the course:

HubSpot, for email, call booking and customer records
Stripe and PayPal, for payments
Cloudflare, for hosting this website
Google Meet, for your call
Meta Platforms, for measuring our Facebook and Instagram posts and ads, using the Meta Pixel

Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, they use approved safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Standard Contractual Clauses.

Cookies

We use the Meta Pixel, a tool from Meta Platforms (the company behind Facebook and Instagram). It sets a cookie called _fbp, which lasts up to 90 days, and sends Meta details such as the pages you visit, your browser and device, and your IP address. We use this to see which of our posts and ads bring people to the site and to show our ads to people who may find them useful. Meta also uses this information under its own privacy policy.

The Meta Pixel only switches on if you click Accept on the cookie banner. Your choice is stored in your browser so you are not asked on every page, and you can change it at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and control how Meta uses this information for ads in your Facebook or Instagram ad preferences.

Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address to deliver them.

How long we keep it

Signup details: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.
Purchase records: six years, for tax purposes.
Call notes: up to two years after your call, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct, delete or move your data, object to how we use it, or restrict its use. Email hello@cutbackdrinking.com and we will respond within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
